Peter and Cate Whitehead renewed their Marriage Vows in St. Anthony's on New Year's Day 2009
after 20 years of marriage. Peter and Cate live in Australia but they had recently discovered
that Peter's great, great grandparents,Thomas and Frances Williamson, were married in St. Anthony's
in 1851. Three months later they emigrated to Australia and were lucky to arrive as they travelled
on a fast clipper that was more interested in speed than passenger care - over 100 people died
on the trip. Peter and Cate were thrilled to have discovered St. Anthony's and to renew their own
Vows in the same place as Thomas and Frances had made theirs over 150 years ago.
