St. Paul's, Witherslack

Welcome to St. Paul’s church webpage….. We have a delightful little church here in Witherslack which remains open for visitors everyday.

As a result of a legacy from John Barwick, a Witherslack man, who became Dean of St. Paul’s in 1662, the church was built. It is a fine example of a mid-seventeenth century village church, with the later additions of pews and organ.

There is a service every Sunday alternating between mornings and evenings and generally we follow the monthly pattern of services below:

1st Sunday   9.30am Holy Communion (CW)
2nd Sunday  4.00pm Village Service
3rd Sunday   9.30am Holy Communion (CW or BCP)
4th Sunday   6.30pm Evensong (BCP)  (4.00pm October – February)

(If there are 5 Sundays in the month then there is usually only one
service in one of the parishes cared for by our parish priest - so check the
Notices in the church porch before hand).

Our parish priest is Rev’d. Michael Woodcock, who is the person to contact about special services and any personal concerns (015395 68276)

Our Parish Safeguarding Officer for Cartmel Fell, Crosthwaite, Winster, and Witherslack is Mrs Jane Eccles. If you have any concerns over the Safeguarding of children or adults in any of these four parishes then please contact Jane on 015395 58138 or 07779 953763.
