We Won!Crosthwaite was named as Winner of the 2009 Cumbria Calor Village of the Year Competition. The judges felt that we scored well in all categories and were impressed by what they saw as a strong, self assured community. We were also winner of the Sustainability Category with a ‘first class vision of the ways ahead’ and the Communications Category with ‘considered and comprehensive communications’. The judges also made the following comments:
Members of the team, pictured below, attended the Cumbrian awards presentation in Kirkby Stephen and received a plaque and framed certificate.
The Next StageAs winner of the county competition, Crosthwaite was nominated as Cumbria’s entry into the North West Region Village of the Year competition. The National judges visited us on 29th September. We did not win the Regional Village of the Year but Crosthwaite did win the Community and Business Category Awards for the North region.
