Peter Sherratt
16 June 1943 – 4 April 2020
Peter was a retired management consultant. He claimed that he squandered much of his career writing mind-bogglingly boring business reports and studies.
Some years ago he freaked out and turned to writing and producing pantomimes in his village in Cumbria. That was much more fun.
He then descended even further into the abyss, writing in a variety of genres, mostly romantic novels.
They continue to be available on Amazon and Kindle or from their publisher.
Unaware that his family's history dates back to the Norman Conquest, James Mountjoy finds himself heir to a dukedom and a major country estate in Cumbria. That's the good news.
The bad news is that the estate has been neglected for forty years, the castle is a burnt-out ruin and the estate is on the verge of bankruptcy. Does he want to inherit the burden, or should he simply walk away?
Rowan, the gamekeeper's attractive daughter, encourages him to tackle the job: "the estate is not land and buildings, it is people". Inspired, he motivates the people to work with him and, despite setbacks, gradually transforms the estate into a profitable and successful enterprise, restoring their pride.

Most exciting of all, Olivia’s work on trees of the Amazon exposes her to the constant threat of death from the jungle, the river and from the murderous drug traffickers who increasingly control the river.
And what of the shadowy and unknown tribes of Amazon natives which avoid all contact with civilisation? A genuine page-turner.

RIVER SONG is a gentle, romantic tale of rural England in the 18th century. It is set in a large country sporting estate in the ancient county of Cumberland, in the north of what is now Cumbria - the Lake District. It tells the story of Richard, a woodsman, born beside a river on the estate, a man at ease with himself and content with life.
The dramatic arrival of a girl and her baby changes everything. The story traces his life and loves from his humble beginnings to his rise, through fate, to the management of the entire estate.
